"Archaeologies" a LoveChild Creative Studios and Blok collaboration, sets out to reframe our understanding of three megalopolises by exploring the intersection between our idealized images of these cities and their underlying personas, and how one makes possible the other.

In the first project Archaeologies: Los Angeles, photographer Renato D’Agostin unites with author and urban thought-leader Norman Klein under the Creative Direction of Anthony Frattolillo and Vanessa Eckstein. The dialogue between D’Agostin’s instinctual images and Klein’s thought-provoking essay examines our preconceived ideas of what makes the city true to itself. The project spawned a short documentary film, directed by Frattolillo, capturing Renato's creative process. As well as “Origins,” a podcast series that considers how some of LA’s most significant, but overlooked, landmarks have influenced our perceptions of the city’s identity.
